I had no idea Estelle Winwood was affiliated with the group.

I don't know of direct links between the Brains and the roundtable.
But Robert Benchley and George S Kaufman are major influences on the Brains
as comedians and writers. And, well, Harpo, of course. Surely some of
the Brains are influenced by Franklin Pierce Adams, Alexander Woollcott,
Dorothy Parker, Noel Coward, and Donald Ogden Stewart.

In his memoirs Harpo characterized his real role in the
roundtable as being the good audience member, the person they could
tell jokes *to*. Which is a particular skill, certainly.
