Hi
I just bought a lot of old Apple Macintosh computers at auction as I'm a big fan of Apple products. It includes 2 PowerBook 100 bought with powerpacks and external floppy drives. One even has the original PowerBook laptop case. I want to keep one and sell one so I need some advice from experts. A) where can I have the one I want to keep overhauled, Neither will power up but since they are really in very good condition I think it is probably a battery issue. Secondly I also got an old monitor, a keyboard, and five original Apple mice which I will keep I think but will part with a couple of the mice. Where do you think I would be best to put these up for sale? I immediately thought eBay but there are no others on there at all, which I guess means they are either rare, no one wants to sell theirs or they are selling them through a specialist site. Any advice will be really appreciated. I'm based in Scotland in the UK

The units don’t power up - did they come with a certified Apple power supply?
The batteries are most probably dead by now, take them out of the powerbooks to ensure that there’s not Copper Sulphate (blue crystals) visible anywhere - that stuff can be a game changer in terms of “fixability” score. Taking a vintage Powerbook to any business that doesn’t specialise in fixing vintage powerbook computers will probably be the death knell for them so be choosy where you go (if you need to). You can probably find enough information online to enable you to test the condition of the powerbooks (try googling “68k MLA”) the forum is full of people like me who can advise on fixing up vintage Apple equipment.
In terms of what you want to do with a unit which is overhauled what are your goals here? Just something that works that you can take notes on?
If the mice are period correct to the laptops then they’re probably BUS based mice and really aren’t worth that much money (try googling “apple A9M0331”).

eBay is usually a good place to sell those things; it's where I buy them.
I'm sure there are other mice and what-not available on the site. I'm not
sure how valuable old Mac mice are; I don't think they are worth too much
and I just threw out a whole bucket of them.
You need a power supply to fire up your PB100. You can find them for sale
online. Good luck!
