Someone recently suggested a boycott against EA even when they DO
start programming for the ST. I would like to point out that this
is a self-defeating argument. Sure there are other software companies
out there programming for the ST. We want more! EA will *not* "go down
the tubes" without ST customers. They write for enought machines that
they don't really care if we buy their stuff or not. However they DO
produce good software. Much of which would not be available from other
companies. My suggestion: buy from them if it is the product that you
want, don't if it isn't. A boycott of them after they cave in to demand
and start writing ST software would be cutting off your nose to spite
your face.

BTW: This boycott call was posted to INFO-ATARI8. Possibly because the
original EA letter was posted there. The EA letter was a general interest
item, and should have been posted to both groups (I don't know if it was...).
Someone flamed the poster, saying keep ST stuff out of the ATARI8 mailing
list. I sent a note to him saying it was general interest. HOWEVER, the
boycott call was DEFINATELY ST-oriented, and should have been posted
to INFO-ATARI16. I know this split is confusing folks, but I am sure
that you can do it if you try.....
