Finally I could find someone testing netplay from the VICE emulator with
me. But no luck. It either crashed or mostly froze when initiating the
connection. We also swapped roles (server <-> client), and port 6502 was
open on both sides.

We did this over the internet (and over the Atlantic Ocean ;-).

He has Mac while I has Linux. I read also that the VICE versions have to
be identical. But also here we used different versions. Is that true?

Anyone ever successfully played a game or started a program on VICE which
two different computers then had access to via netplay?
