It was well worth the wait!

A 20 minute short, made as if it was a historical documentary.

A taste of what is to come: a movie about the battle of Axanar.

I've seen it several times already and it is very enjoyable! :-)

Just watched the first (4:54) short and it's looking good .... but at
about 2:45, do they mention Khan ("Khan .... Vulcan Intelligence is
......")??

I didn't know he had been heard of between the Eugenics wars in 1996
(Did I miss them??) and the ST:ToS Ep Space Seed!!

Kharn! A Klingon. Not Khan.

AH!! Now, as I watch the 20:00 Prelude to Axanar, I see the "Kharn"
mentioned is a Klingon!

And doesn't Adm Ramirez (Tony Todd) have similar voice to Samuel L.
Jackson??

When Axanar gets theatrical release, it would be interesting to see
"Prelude to Axanar" as a pre-Intermission presentation type of thing.

And, shifting topics slightly, if U.S.S. stands for United Star Ship,
does NCC (as in NCC 1701) stand for anything??

U.S.S. stands for United Space Ship I thought.

NCC was never explained in any official manner. Some say: Navigational
Call Code, or, Naval Contract Code. Something like that.

Matt Jefferies, I once read, had a plane that had a code starting with
NC. He just added another C.

After posting my above, I was thinking that I had seen, elsewhere,
somebody wearing a jacket which had a patch for a current day U.S. of
A.'ian ship, the U.S.S. whatever, and it's number, something like CVS
946, gave no indication of any connection with the ships purpose.

So, maybe, you explanation is as good as any!!

LOL
Well, there is a lot more 'space' than there are 'stars'. :-)

In Star Trek they use both I see (but 'space' is used more often):

USS, that's how ship names of the United States Navy start.

It stands for 'United States Ship'

Here's a cool read:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Navy_ships

You can see that when they made Star Trek back in the 60's they very
much honored ships of the US navy.
