I saw a intellivision II for sale in Consumer Distributing (a N.J.
catalog showroom) for 139.95. The sales person said it was identicle
internally to the Original intellivision, so I think it could play Coleco
cartridges. The box said that it has a total of 7K ROM and RAM !
If the original version had less than this its incredible. The model II is
packaged in a cheaper case with cheaper looking disc controllers.
Some of the hardware in original and probably the model II is as follows:

CP1610-16 Bit CPU
AY-3-8900-STIC (Standard Television Interface Adapter)
AY-3-8910-Programmable Sound Generator
AY-3-8915-Color Processor Chip

In addition to the above there are a few RAM and ROM Chips. All the
LSI chips are made by General Instruments (G.I.) and to my knowledge
are not second sourced by anybody else. They are all standard off the
shelf devices. The Intellivoice unit has a standard G.I. speech
synthesizer chip set. If anyone has any technical details on the
keyboard unit let me know.
