I really like reading the reviews of various video games and
got the time to submit one of my own. The game is called Space
Jockey and is made by U. S. Games. I was introduced to this game when
a local food chain ( Dominick's ) was selling them at their customer
assistance counter for $6.99. As if this price wasn't low enough,
they were also giving a $3.00 rebate from the factory for each game
purchased ( no limit ). ( I ought to mention that U. S. Games is a
division of Quaker Oats and maybe thats why they were selling them
in a grocery store. ) The offer expired on Dec. 31 of last year and
the reason that I didn't tell you people about it is that I was on
vacation playing this game with my kids!

The basic game is like Defender, but with a few differences.
First of all, you are in an "attack" flying saucer. You are being
attacked by various earthly objects ( airplane, jet fighter, hellicopter,
and tank ). Additionally, there are other objects to shoot at and if
touched will destroy you ( in some games ). They are barrage baloons,
trees, and houses. All attacking objects move from right to left and
unlike Defender there is no radar screen and you cannot move to the left
to catch an attacker that you missed. The attack saucer can move up
and down and sometimes left and right ( depends on the game ).
The object of the game is to shoot as many of the objects without getting
shot. For every 1000 points, you get an extra saucer.

The game shown on the box is very misleading, the one that
I have has really good graphics ( for an Atari game ). Overall, I would
give this game a rating right up there with Defender and Demon
Attack. There are 16 games on this cartridge with varying amounts of
complexity. All games are one player games, but as long as the
power is not turned off, the high score is remembered. So the game can
be played by many people.

If anyone finds a Dominick's in the Chicagoland area still selling
this cartridge for $6.99, please tell me or put it on the net.
There is this kid of a friend of ours thats having a birthday next
month.......

Have fun,
Chuck Young at ihps3!ihuxi!cjy
