From Up on Poppy Hill
2011 PG 91 minutes

As Japan prepares to host the Olympics, Shun, a school reporter, fights to save a clubhouse from progress-minded authorities. He gets unexpected help from Umi, a classmate who's fallen in love with him.

Cast:Masami Nagasawa, Sarah Bolger, Junichi Okada, Anton Yelchin, Keiko Takeshita, Gillian Anderson, Yuriko Ishida, Christina Hendricks, Rumi Hiiragi, Aubrey Plaza, Jun Fubuki, Jamie Lee Curtis, Takashi Naitô, Bruce Dern
Director: Goro Miyazaki

This is a wonderful anime. Absolutly nothing exciting or important happens, and that's why everything is important. The care that was taken drawing every frame is amazing. Highly highly recommended!

Second that remark, this has a sub-plot of possible incest that
spoils the boy-girl mood briefly. Reminds me of "Marmalade Boy" but
the subplot does not drag out through the story.
Cleanup of the Club House aka the Latin Quarter is impressive.

Yes I know when this was posted but I never got to watch the anime
until this month.

Coincidentally I re-watched 'Poppy Hill' a few days ago. A wonderful anime.
