Chicklet. ;-)

The Sinclair were only successful because of the price. If you look at
the markets outside the UK the C64 had the biggest market share, even
outperforming the IBM PC for some time.

<http://ankman.de/market_1984.jpg> is from what the 8BitGuy on Youtube
provided for the 8Bit computer market in 1984 for the US. So figures from
the UK and other markets are ignored.

The grass is always greener on the other side; especially due to the crude RGB palette of the Sinclair ZX Spectrum.

Regards,

Shaun.

You *can* switch graphic modes and also mix graphic and text modes on
the C=64. You do that by counting the horizontal retrace interrupts and
using the appropriate blanking pulses to change the mode "on the fly".

Sure, but they were "only" 8, even if they could stretch vertically over
the whole screen and you could actually reuse them horizontally with
some effort, but as I wrote, after amiga, almost no platform relied on
sprites anymore. If you wanted 200+ moving objects on the screen, it was
BOBs in some fashion and not sprites.

I love how people are still feeding the trolls after all these years. Awesome. :-)

I wanna play....

"SEGA GENESIS was SOOO much better than SNES because it had BLAST PROCESSING!"

Unless your CPU supports BLAST PROCESSING then you are garbage.

Yes but the Z80 processor could also do register pairs, so the bestest machines has to be the Commodore C128 (but only when it's using the Z80 processors).

Shaun.
