A couple others: Atari 2600 Pacman has a tinkling sound while
you can eat ghosts, which is better to rely on than the color
of the ghosts because they are so faint (they are only visible
1/4 of the time) that you can't tell their color without looking
directly at them, something you can't afford to do.

Night driver has an option where cars coming at you honk their
horns before they appear.

However, most games can be played with no sound, although it
will feel weird. We often have kids turn the volume way down
or off when they play.
