Hi Gilles and anyone else interested,
Well I looked on Gilles's pages but found no contact so a public
appeal is my recourse.
Yesterday when I got to Kinokuniya's manga shopp (took me 5 weeks to
get there) I saw this volume and wondered if you had a review of it.
Schoolgirl Milky Crisis: Adventures in the Anime and Manga Trade from
Barnes & Noble author one Johnathan Clements.

The title is of a fictitious work mentioned as an excuse or because of
copyright problems from time to time apparently.
There is a short review at that site

This isn't a new book (2009), and I vaguely remember coming across it
before. Jonathan Clements is quite well known in the UK anime scene;
I've probably seen him at some event or other and one of my friends had
a meeting with him.

Great stuff, I recommend it. Some of Clements' best essays.
He also rights on non-anime related material. I highly recommend his
book Coxinga: And the Fall of the Ming Dynasty and his A Brief History
of the Samurai.
