Well, it's a juggling among several consituencies. The rabidly pro-
Packer fans vs. the merely SUPER-fans, the leering gemologists vs. the
philandering Calvin-Coolidge-quoters, etc.

Yes, but dispite this vast diversity, there is a crucial commonality:
in both cases, they're willing to brave -30 degree weather in an open
arena to cheer for a 6-10 team (4-4 at home). I have a hard time
rooting for a .500 team from my living room. *This* is solidarity.

Are both of these extraordinary demographic groups well-represented in
the Packers fanhood? I haven't seen the data.

Oh, those are just the LUCKY ones! The rest are left to mill around
movie theaters in the hope that an EXOTHERMIC BEASTIE will wander
by, ... but until that happens, GO PACKERS!

They're *only* the PRIMARY ECONOMIC DRIVERS that will propel the Upper
Midwest out of the current downturn!

Well, it's not like you could call on either of them to get
together and root for the Bears, much less the World War II-inspired
merger between the Pittsburgh and Chicago teams, the Stears. And it
would be absurd to root for the Rochester Royals since they haven't
existed since 1957.

I had been wondering how many lemming geologists there were,
anyway.
You know, after leaving office Calvin Coolidge was hired as a
newspaper columnist and paid a dollar a word for his writing.
