I enjoyed this at least twice as much (by my reckoning ;-)) as
the previous three. It's up there in the neighborhood of the
"Glitter" RiffTrax (by Mary Jo Pehl and Mike Nelson), IMHO, YMMV. I
was laughing several times during the rapid high-quality riff-pace
toward the beginning. The later parts thinned out, so that at some
places I didn't have anything to do but listen to the movie,
unfortunately :-(. Otherwise, the episode was quite good, and if they
can keep up this level, I don't have qualms about paying for the
product (which I was starting to worry about, given the first three).
Of course, I hope they can keep moving it toward (and beyond?) MST3K-
quality.
Here are some of the *many* riffs I liked:
"Titles by Lazy Title, a division of Shrug Corps" -Josh
"Better top off. I didn't slur that last line _nearly_ enough" -Josh
(before guy drinks from flask)
-----
"Nice lettering on the car there. That's the official logo of Peel
and Stick County" -Mary Jo
"To Protect and Adhere" -Josh
[I really appreciate the building-on riffs like this! This is one
of many techniques from MST3K that I was missing in the previous
Cinematic Titanics.]
-----
"A Robert Goulet-O-Gram?" -Joel
"The House That Plot Forgot!" -Trace
"That's it: I'm bored. I'm gonna go find my murder" -Frank
"Geez, Andy Warhol's 'Sleep' didn't have this much sleep in it!" -
Frank
-----
[I've got to talk to you-"Johnny"]
"I think we need to see _other_ siblings" -Frank
-----
"Action Shrink: With 20% more caring!" -Trace
-Doug Elrod (dre1@cornell.edu) :-)
P.S. Did anyone else have problems with the DVD? Whenever I tried
"Play Movie", it started to grind, and couldn't get past the
"Attention" screen, but I was able to view the whole thing, I think,
via the "Chapters" button.
