History Channel has somehow gone horribly wrong, even when you
factor out stuff like the Department of Nostradamus Blathering.

To be honest, I didn't know they had anyone named Nute Gunray
either. I don't think I got any of The Phantom Menace names straight
except Jar-Jar and Darth Not Appearing In This Film.
It turned out that the whole thing was supposed to shore up
the idea that Star Wars was a really grand and ornate Modern Myth that
harkened back to classic archetypical myths and folklore and whatnot,
but mostly it seemed to want to insist that the prequels were *just*
as good as the real Star Wars films. Maybe they were schedulining it
in the mistaken belief that anyone was going to care about Clone Wars.
The comic strip Nancy made the same mistake on Sunday.
