Oh! If only I felt comfortable ordering things over this
'Internet' contraption.

Thanks for telling us! Rather than waiting for the Party Congress,

Yeah, Ken Begg references this in his review of it on Jabootu:

OK, can someone tell us what’s going on here? It seems likely (given
the film’s title, anyway) that the Chinese possess some sort of
Doomsday Device, i.e. one that can destroy the Earth. Now, this idea
was perhaps more deeply explored in Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove.
There, the titular character, played by Peter Sellers, points out that
the political advantages of having such a device are somewhat negated
if NO ONE KNOWS YOU HAVE IT!

Having seen the live show last night, I can tell you: Be ready for
some pain and bad editing. As well as Casey Kasem and Mike Farrell.

And more than a few laughs, of course.

I could have used a few laughs last night. I went to see, "Don't Mess
with the Zohan". Oh lordy, that was one overly long joyless sleeping pill
of a movie. I posted a review of it on IMDB (not approved yet) and a few
comments in the IMDB message board. I still don't feel any less cheated
over watching Adam Sandler in "utterly bored porn star mode". I am waiting
for IMDB comment approval so I can erase the majority of that movie from my
memory.

You may be interested to know that some of the people with whom you
watched the premiere of the final "MST3K" episode (at my old apartment)
were at the live show as well. Afterward, there were lots of
exclamations of "wow," as in "wow, that was a bad, bad movie."

Well, you've got no-one to blame but yourself for *that*.

If enough people just said "no" to any new Adam Sandler movie, he'd
stop making them!

I shouldn't be surprised. I was looking out for a familiar face or
two.

I think Frank described "Doomsday Machine" best....

A man with his own production company lives in his own world, and is FAR
beyond the earthly spherical influence of any mere audience. -_-

Derek Janssen (think about it: Why *would* he still put Rob Schneider
in his movies, if not for no other reason than he thought he could?)

"Click" was pretty good and Sandler showed a decent range of acting
skill.

The only film he's been any good in was "Punch-Drunk Love". I've not
yet seen "Reign Over Me", though I've heard mixed reviews.

Yeah, like when he had to act like he didn't want to have sex with Kate
Beckinsale. I thought that was the most unbelievable part of that movie.

How did it compare to "The Oozing Skull"? You probably saw them in
different venues, but accounting for that, how are they doing? Would
you recommend the TDM DVD? Thanks!

-Doug Elrod (dre1@cornell.edu)
I wonder if the makers of TDM planned on a sequel ("TWICE THE
DOOM!") ;-)
