Two Strange Occurances (winvice 1.17, Karateka, ZIP archives) [message #141697] Tue, 15 November 2005 05:44

Hi,

I am using the two versions of Karateka, that are available on Arnold
with X64 (Winvice)
Whenever I want to play Karateka, as soon the player figure appears the
game crashes/vanishes (screen goes black) as soon as I hit any button.
I am unable to play.

Right now I used the "Karateka_c2.Broderbund.zip" file and it happened
with this. I did a hard_reset and the C64 screen appeared, the first
character after the READY prompt was a komma (,) and I can't do any input.

Another strange thing is, when browsing my archive of zipped D64 (etc.)
files, I get a DOS window appearing for the fraction of a second,
whenever I select an archive with the mouse. Could it be, that there is
some command-line action happening in the background when listing the
ZIP archives ? I use Winvice 1.17 on WinXP-Pro SP2, starting it from the
icon.

Please, any help would be greatly apreciated, since I *must* do an AVI
file of the gameplay. :-)

Cheers, Andreas
