Well, I was all excited to see that the rs232 stuff in vice was fixed!
Unfortunately, I've still got some pretty heavy problems :(

Does anyone know exactly what is still not being emulated correctly? In unix
vice, I get tons of "Frame Error!" messages on the vice output console
whenever something is sent to the rs232. I'm trying to run a BBS software
that uses the Transactor magazine rs232 routines. The unix box is connected
to my windows box via null modem cable (no DSR/pin 6) on ttys0. On the PC
side, I'm running either tcpser4j or BBS Server 1.2.. Same thing happens
with each one. I've tried all the different settings I can try in vice and
still can't get any legible communication from the BBS to the PC.

I did have a little bit of luck with desterm128 3.02.. I had to turn on ACIA
emulation to make desterm think I was on a swiftlink, but I was able to send
AT commands to BBS Server.

Without ACIA emulation, it acted the same as above. I can't remember what it
stands for, but in desterm there's a C next to the baud rate, and when the
rs232 wasn't working, that C would flicker really fast. (Carrier? CTS?) Also
without ACIA turned on, desterm would say that "CTS wasn't detected and the
terminal may hang until it is".

I've been doing most of the testing in x128, but x64 gives the same
behaviour.

I'm using Mandriva linux with 2.6.11-MDK kernel.

Any clues?
