Does anybody know of a retailer that could supply a connecter that connects
to the c64/c128 user port? I think it is a 24 pin edge connecter (of the
female variety), but for the life of me, I can't find one online...

Also, I'm after a company that supplies those little chip holders, so I
don't have to solder a chip directly onto a board, the ones that would hold
memory ram chips...

Thanks...
Paul.

Judging from your headers, I assume you're in the UK.

I don't know about a UK source, but you can order them from Reichelt in
Germany. Their website is at http://www.reichelt.de. The order code for
the connector is STECKER 24-396, the price is EUR 1.10 each.

Their website states a minimum order value of EUR 150 for orders from
abroad; however, they've been known to make exceptions if you ask
nicely.

You can get those from just about every electronics supply store,
including (unless things changed a lot in the last five years) your
local Maplin's.

Thank you, I have just emailed the company to see if anything can be
done....

I've also looked at maplins a couple of times, but as I didn't know what the
*real* name for them is, I have never been able find them...but having a
harder look, I find they are called "Turned Pins IC Sockets" I think, so now
I need to find out the pins I need and buys them.. :)

Regards.
Paul.

Try www.rs-components.com
They have almost everything. You can order even 1 piece only, and usually
you'll have it the next day.

And if they're anything like our RS, they will charge you an extortionate
amount of money for it.

Digikey has them, I bought some from them recently. I don't have their
part # handy, but I did a quick search and I think this is the beast,

When I clicked on that link I got,

Your dataset has expired. Please search again

what you put in for the search, so I find the correct part?
