I have'nt said much in this group
lately. However being spring and the new generation games out at
this time are mostly crap,it was time to play my genny full time
again.I am kicking tail with After Burner 2,Wardner,Alissa
Dragoon,Sega 6-Pak,Batman Revenge of the Joker.Eswat,Alien 3,and 134
other sweet genny games in my collection.I have every next gen system
save a PS3.There are no decent games out for them. This time of year
is always a dry spell for new games for me.It is good to be playing my
Genny again.Time to go garage selling again for 8 and 16 bit games I
don't have yet.I picked up 14 (complete in box), Master System games
Wedensday for $25.00.That doubled my colletion.Finding games like that
out in the wild is great. An example of some of the games I got were,
1-Miracle Warriors with map
2-After Burner
3-Zillion
4-Zillion II
5-Double Dragon
and 8 other Cartridge Master System games.
One game F-16 Fighting Falcon is a card based game. Can't get it to
play past the Title.I think it is because of my power base
converter. For some reason I can't seem to find a Master System
console.I bought the convertor about 15 years ago at a garage sale
along with a light gun.
Is any one else hitting the old consoles more than usual this time of
the year. It's nice to be back playing my genny.Have to quit playing
for a few days starting next Thursday.Going to take the wife to visit
relatives out of town. But when we get back,it's more Genny playing
time. Bruce

Seems like noone has...;)

I never really cared for AB2...but then again, I didn't like any of the
AB games for the most part. Just way too fast and spastic for me.

> Wardner,Alissa
> Dragoon,

Alisia Dragoon is damn good, one of my favorites.

> Sega 6-Pak,Batman Revenge of the Joker.

I've only every briefly plays RofJ via emulation...but I didn't much
care for it. I'd like to give it another shot at some point though. I
find it hard to believe that there's a Sunsoft game out there that I
could just not like. ;)

I really dig this one. If you get a chance, try out the SMS version as well.

Alien 3 was really hip, I really enjoyed it once I turned off the clock
using the Game Genie. With the clock on it's just not fun, imo.

Whew....good luck on that one. ;)

Zillion always seemed alright, I haven't put in a lot of time with it
though. Scott really seems to dig it.

To me, even though this was a much closer conversion than the NES
version, and even with the 2 player option, this just sucks. The hit
detection, the control, everything. Just ugh.

Yeah, this is one of the games listed in the PBC's manual as not working
with it. :(

> For some reason I can't seem to find a Master System

They are hard to come by. With the PBC being so compatible though, it'd
have to take something like Phantasy Star not working with it to get me
to actually get an SMS though.

I think the light guns works with the PBC, doesn't it?

I've mostly been on an Xbox kick lately.

I can dig it.

I was looking and playing some more Genny games today and came across
a game
I bought last year.It was Chavez Boxing.I know the SNES version is
more rare and cost more,
but this version I have is in Spanish.I think I read some where that
the Spanish verion is pretty rare.
Do you know if this is true?Like I said I'm takeing my wife on
vacation Thursday.Do you know
any gamestores pn the DFW area that specialise in older games.I would
appriciate it.Just got through
playing Streets of Rage on the Genny.I forgot how good it was.Too
short though. How do you beat the
twin boss girls.I can't seem to get their pattern down.At level 8 with
no help from the squad car they
are almost impossible to defeat.Thanks...Bruce

Jumping attacks and grapples are the best bet against these two. Try to
knock one down and then hit the other one with whatever you've got.
There's a trick to getting them to stay close enough to you without
making them to a backward's handspring away. You just have to try a
couple of things to figure out what makes them jump away.

Not sure, but you'd assume that a game that features a major boxer
like that, they'd have available in all languages. :)

I just know of one in Lewisville, Texas(a suburb of Dallas). It's
called "Game Exchange". It's ok, they do have some hip stuff from time
to time but their stock has dropped dramatically over the years. If
you're around the area, check it out:

http://www.yellowpages.com/sp/moreinfo/index.jsp?id=30836451 &q=game%20exchange

Speaking of an SMS system, you may just luck out and find one
there...I have seen them there before.

While you're in the area, you ought to hit Grapevine Mills Mall(in
Grapevine Texas) to visit the Sega GameWorks...

I really dig it. A lot of people seem to think that with the release
of part 2, that part 1 is nothing to even look at anymore...but I like
it more than part 2(just by a hair) and certainly don't think that
it's something to overlook.

Just chase them(literally), as they flip around the screen. Usually
right as they land you'll grab them, from there give them hell, then
repeat. Back attacks work well on them as well, IIRC.

Nah, I guess from an actual store but easy and affordable via online
means. I had the orginal model, had RF at first then got the Genny 1
style mono A/V plug for it. Its kind of crazy design, very wide but
only a few inches deep, those crazy angles and its pretty wild just
how light the unit itself was.

Yeah, it works, I used them all the time on my PBC.

Hey thanks for the game store locations. As a kid I had many a fun time
with the girls at Grapevine lake.
Back then the DFW area was not so crowded or busy,I used to work in
the Lewisville,Farmers Branch area
right after I came home from overseas.I Left the DFW area in1986 to
live in the small town.Never regretted
it.I take it the Sega Store sells sega products only.May have a good
shot at a Master System.
Thanks Sott and Bel for your advise.Have a good day...Bruce

Yeah, I borrowed one from a buddy year and years ago, had a great time
with it. It really is super long though.

I never have played or even seen an SMS lightgun game. I'd love to try
one, and I'd love to see a damn game that uses the 3D glasses.

If you're talking about Sega GameWorks, it's not a store, it's an
arcade/bar/restaurant. It used to be really cool...now it's just sort of
"blah" for me. For those who have never been though, it'll be a nice
experience. I've just been there so many times over the years and it's
nothing but depressing to walk in and see that they've gotten yet
another shitty, deluxe cabinet for "Initial D Racing" or something like
that.

> May have a good
> shot at a Master System.

Yeah, it's possible. I know they've got a lot of weird stuff like
unopened Lynx games, some Turbo Grafx CD stuff, even some CDI and 3DO
thrown in there.
