Did anyone hear about QNX which was the product of QUANTUM
SOFTWARE SYSTEMS?

They (QSS) sent us the price list as follows:

	QNX	$650	Multi-User, Multi-Tasking, Real-Time O.S.
	C $300
	QDOC	$300	Text Formatter
	QDOS	$60	DOS Emulator
	QMAIL	$150	mail system
	QMENU	$150	Menu Package
	QSPELL	$199	Real-Time Spelling Checker
	TED	$50	Terminal Editor

We orderd a demo disk. It seems to me that their system is very fast. However,
I don't know if it is ?NIX-like O.S. They also sent benchmark results
as follows:

OS	Computer	Processor	Measusre(msec)	Normalized(msec)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
QNX	IBM-PC 4.7MHz(8088)	1.35 1.4
UNIX	ONYX 4MHz(z8000)	6.56 12.3
XENIX	ALTOS 5MHz(8086)	10.4 14.1
UNIX	CODIA 8MHz(68000)	5.34 15.2
XENIX	Intel-286	5MHz(80286)	4.93 20.7
UNIX	FORTUNE 6MHz(68000)	10.5 22.4

Question: Does anyone have the experience on QNX?
What is your opinion about it?
Is this QNX another ?NIX-like? If it is not, how
much difference is there between System V/4.2 BSD and QNX?
Have you ever tried to run QNX multitask or multiuser?
(QNX says that it can support 17 users. Is it true?)

I will summarize all the information and post it. Thanks in advance.
