I thought I would mention a VT100 emulator for the PC that I recently
bought and am quite pleased with. It is called Versacom, and has the
following features:

1. VT100 emulation. I am not up on the various VT1xx terminals, but
I have tried it to the extent of setting TERM to vt102 and using Emacs.
Everything seemed to be OK. The manual goes on at some length about
how the PC's keypad can be used in the same way as a VT100's. The manual
thoroughly documents the escape sequences understood by the emulator.

2. Kermit and Xmodem file transfer protocols. I have used Kermit
for file transfer successfully. The ``connect'' command of Kermit is
what actually what starts the emulation.

3. Key definition. Function keys can be made to send any sequence of
characters.

4. Startup file. Key definitions, baud rate settings, etc. can be
placed in a file to be automatically read at start up.

5. The ability to capture an emulation session into a file.

Drawbacks:

Versacom is 93K, which may or may not be a problem. The Kermit portion
of the code is adapted from the Columbia University Kermit. I don't know
if it works on PC compatibles; I haven't tried it.
