As you get to handle deeper levels, money will become no problem.
You can also cheat a bit through use of backup & transfer to get
extra copies of good items and more money.

Gold/Silver/Bronze keys and Blue ribbon each get you into places you
could not otherwise go.

The elevatorS take you to different levels. The one you mention gets to
level 4 when you press D.
