Why is it $40 for the softcover edition? That's insanely expensive for a
234-page book.

Publishers set the price; the kindle edition is only $9.99 on Amazon right now, however. . . I'm afraid that there is no excerpt available for posting.. I do think, for the many Moore fans out there, that this is a god-send in terms of academic criticism. If you have to, get a copy through inter-library loan.

Well, based on the title I am not 100% clear what the book will be about.
It sounds like it's your reading too much into his work and finding hidden
symbolisms as opposed to Alan M.'s original intension.

For example, Joe Q. hates redheads for some undisclosed reasons and he acts
out at work and insist that such characters meet miserable fates.
