I just learned the news: Jean Giraud, better known as Gir and Moebius, died
this morning at. Creator (with Jean-Michel Charlier) of the western hero
Blueberry, and author of numerous science-fiction comics, such as The
Airtight Garage, Arzach and L'Incal, he was 73 years old. He will be missed
by every comic book fan.

It's truly a shame that he never got much of an exposure in the U.S.
(Except those Epic graphic novels in the 80s.) The only American work I
remember from him was that two-issue Silver Surfer with Uncle Stan that is
highly recommended.
A decade ago Humanoid was publishing the Incal as a monthly series but they
decided to publish the final arc as a graphic novel in its entirety. I
couldn't locate it when it was first published and I still want to know how
the story ended.
