I have a Columbia Portable PC with two floppy drives and 128K
of memory. It will run Volkswriter, but it won't run dbase II unless I add
more memory. I have had no problem with it at all in running IBM pc software
level 2.0 or better that is).

The only reasons I would steer you away from the Columbia are
1). The perfect series software that comes with it is miserable to use.
2). They were slow to release MS-DOS v.2.0, and may have similar problems
	in the future.
3). Other manufacturers of IBM clones are less pricey. (It's hard to count
the perfect software as a valuable part of the deal. It really sucks.

Similar problems? According to the current issue of DTACK GROUNDED,
that should be the least of their problems. "Columbia Data Products...
just reported a loss of $28.6 million on sales of $0.39 million in
its most recent fiscal quarter." How long do you suppose a company
will last that takes in less than half a million while spending 29
million?
