What's the best word processing program out there for the Apple II+?
(I realize this is extremely subjective. What I'm really looking for
is reviews. --- Thanks)

Pie Writer < Hayden Software

I certainly don't have time to write a software review, but Pie Writer
is a very functional text editor and formatter. Pie Writer's roots go
back to QED (forerunner to vi (?)). For an Apple ][ WP program, it
has an abundance of commands for manipulating text.

The text formatting commands have to be imbedded in the document.
They take the form of nroff dot commands, and most of them are identical
or very similar to corresponding nroff commands.

Very robust, fast, nice user interface. Especially friendly to vi and
nroff users. $150.

I echo the vote for PIE. It supports dot matrix printers exceptionally well.
If you have CPM, WORDSTAR is excellent also but it doesn't support
all the bells and whistles on dot matrix printers as easily.
