I've been using SIMTEL20 for quite a while. I have two questions.

    1. How do I find out if a file is COM or ASCII.

Get MICRO:CPM.CRCLST. It's an ascii file listing all files in
the MICRO: directories and showing their filetype, size and
CRC. This file is frequently updated, sometimes several times a week.

    2. How do I upload files and make sure that it comes out in ITS
    format?

If you want to submit files to our collection you can upload them to
your host in BINARY or ASCII format (depending upon the file, of
course). Send me a message saying that you have some files to submit
and I'll reply with instructions on how to FTP them to SIMTEL20. The
FTP program will have to be told whether to use BINARY or ASCII mode,
of course. It is also helpful if you include a CRC list so I can make
sure they made it here ok.
