Hi George,

The PC-FXGA was released in two flavors - a NEC PC-9800 series model and a
DOS/V model. The DOS/V model is more rare then the PC-9800 one (I have the
latter) and is basically an SDK for the PC-FX. How much was it going for
out of curiosity?

Don't get too excited now, George. It's not THAT rare. You can always get
one on Yahoo! Auctions Japan. There's always at least one of them up for
auction. The PC-9800 version is much more common though, of course.
Obviously because the DOS/V version can be used with current hardware.

complete in the box, this bad boy is going for about 18,000 yen which
is about $165 or so. it's in perfect shape too. i'm telling you, out of dozens and dozens of trips to
akihabara, this is the first time i've seen this one.
this was a day for rare stuff. i found something by shapr called a
TITLER which looks like it was made to copy NES games and i found the
Saturn Basic box which seems as though it allows you to write for the
saturn. i also found a PCE game called Sylphia which was going today
for about $150. is this game any good?
if anyone needs me to pick something up for them, please let me know.
    later, george

It's good -- but not "$150 good," in my opinion. Sylphia
is basically a shooter that has many features found in
Spriggan. Decent graphics, decent gameplay but it does
not have the same longevity of Spriggan.

$50, sure -- maybe even a touch more... but $150 is
a tad excessive, in my opinion.

I LOVED Sylphia myself. Lately it's about doubled in value (over the last
year or so) and it's going for around $150-160. I paid $80 for mine sans
spine about 2 years ago and I had a heck of a time finding it. James Wilson
over at www.thewestexit.net found me one.

Ultimately, they're worth what people will pay, and every time I see a
Sylphia lately, it's well over $100. One of the more valuable PCE titles
these days, along with Kaze Kiri, Fausette Amour, and a few others.
