I really hate for this to be my first message to the list.. but I'm a little
worried and I figured this would be a good place to start, especially since
the web site DarkCityProductions had a link to RetroGames that stated
members of this list recommended.

Site in question:
http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/1424/index.htm

My girlfriend wanted to buy me a Turbo Duo, so she ordered one through
RetroGames' site on Monday (or Sunday?).. but she hasn't heard anything
since and she has tried to call a few times and left a message on their
machine.

Has anybody purchased or sent their system there for repair and can verify
their reputation for me? I was really excited when she told me what I was
getting, but now I'm freaking out.

Please reassure me. (-:

Despite my Duo troubles, I've got a Core Grafx II coming in the mail (along
with 60 Hu-Cards!!) from Japan. The A/V cable has the left audio (white
plug) broken. I've been told the Sega Genesis uses the same cable, but I've
also heard the Genny cable has less pins on the side that connects to the
machine. So I'm just curious if there's a cable I can get, or am I just
going to have to suck it in and re-write the left audio cable (which,
shouldn't be too hard anyway)?

I've been wondering that myself. I've heard mixed signals about em.
Please, if anyone knows, it would be good to know!

Well, I got my Duo from them a few years ago. They were pretty cool about
everything. But I've inquired later in the past year or so and never a
response to my e-mails. It's like kinda iffy now to me for some reason.
They were badass, but now??? I called them when I placed my order though, I
don't know if the orders were placed online might have an effect on it. I
really hope all turns out well.

He is just a really busy person. You may remember some messages in the
past from me inquiring his credibility. A long time ago he helped me get
a Turbo Express, but about 6 months ago I wanted my Duo repaired. I had
the hardest time getting a hold of him, but finally got him on the phone
and he said it wouldn't be a problem. I mailed out my Duo and put
tracking info on it. My Duo had a country switch in it and I made sure
he would send back my original unit. It was back after about two weeks,
and was booting games without skipping that were having trouble in the
past. He is one of the few people out there that knows how to adjust Duo
lasers. Overall, a good person that is a little busy at times.
