Subject: Meteor Blaster DX Beta Testers

Greetings;

I have been rather quiet on the Meteor Blaster front of late,
but things are almost ready for pressing. With this in mind
I am looking for persons willing to work with me on the final
beta testing of the program.

There will be 3 steps to beta testing, you can volunteer for any
or all of these, as you are willing and able.

Step 1: Initial Music Review.
Start Date: 06 March, 2004
Ending Date: 11 March, 2004
This will require that you download 10-15 MP3s and offer
feedback about each. Feedback shoudl include: overall opinions
of the songs, if things are out of place, or do not fit, to
let me know so that they can be either scrapped or fixed.
Additionally, I would like feedback about where in the
game you think the track would fit:
   Gameplay
   Boss Stage
   Title Screen
   Opening/Closing Cinema
   Game Credits

And any other feedback that you feel appropriate.

Requirements: Must have access to a fair amount of bandwidth (40-75
MB of download), and have an MP3 player. I am guessing that this
will be 2 hours.

Step 2: Initial Game Testing.
Start Date: 12 March, 2004
Ending Date: 18 March, 2004

This step will be the actual testing of the game software. All
aspects are open for debate, and frequent updates will be made
available during this time as things are corrected/enahnced.

Requirements: Must be able to Mount a virtual CD in a PCE emulator
(using a tool such as Daemon-Tool). And also later in the test
be able to burn a CD and test on real hardware (using CDRWin).
Time needed 10+ hours. The game can be sent before the official
start date for this phase, however certain elements may not be
quite ready yet.

Step 3: Final Game Testing.
Start Date: 19 March, 2004
Ending Date: 25 March, 2004

This will be the last chance to get input into the game, and
a chance to see the entire CD come together

Requirements: Same as steps 1 and 2, and also the ability to convert
an MP3 to a WAV file, so that steps 1 and 2 can be combined into
a final "CD to test." No CDs with game/audio will be sent due to
the quick turn around time. If you are in the Triangle Area of
NC, I can coordinate for delivery of a Complete CD, but will not
be able facilitate updates as they happen on CD at this stage.
Time needed: 5-10 hours.

The 5 people who provide the best feedback will get a complimentary
copy of the Meteor Blaster DX SCD when it is released (sometime around
01 May 2004)

If you need more info on what Meteor Blaster is, you can go to:
  http://mindrec.com/?main=pce/meteor.php
and you can even download an early version of the game from there
(the final game has vast improvements over what is available for
download).

If you are interested in beta testing, please send an email to:

   pcedev (at) mindrec.com

In your email you need to state that you are willing to beta test
and that you will nto distribute any of the material that you have
access to (all files will be encoded in such a way that if they
are distributed, it will be easy to see where they came from).

Thanks,

-bt
