Subject: Turbo Technical Problems

I have a few questions regarding hardware problems and was hoping someone
might be able to help me solve them.

1) The Turbo Express I own doesn't like my AC Adapter. When the tip is
twisted, the unit will shut off and occasionally turn back on resetting the
game. Anyone know if this is a problem with the Express or is this a
problem with the AC adapter?

2) While playing CD games (SCD or CD), the Turbo CD unit will occasionally
stop playing music, then pick up the music track when the disc is accessed
again. A good example of this would be:

Playing Gate of Thunder. Halfway through Level 2 the music goes out, but
the music starts playing again on Level 3.

My first thought is that my laser is going out, but the discs that do have
this problem aren't in mint condition, so I guess it could be a disc
problem.

Just wanted to know if anyone had any problems like the ones discussed above
and if you had any ideas on what to do. If anyone
needs me to elaborate, let me know.

Thanks,
Andy

From what I've heard some or all of these titles may make it here.... as you
may well know NEC has already made a game on Game Cube called... umm...
"Tube Sliders" not the greatest title name... but at least even NEC is
putting games out here in US now. I like the fact that they chose the Game
Cube... I'd imagine the reasoning behind this is because of the NEC chips
used in the GC. Theres talk that NEC will be working on the next gen
consoles as well (2005ish)
And of coures ATI will still be the major video chip inside. Even MS/Xbox is
lookin at ATI now not N-vidia.
Oddly I haven't read any news about ports to other systems other than the
GC. I'll try and dig up some URL's for anyone interested in reading about
it.

Keep your eyes posted here for all kinds of game related news... this is
where I read about it myself. Also my previous post stated that I hadn't
heard about other ports I asked my friend who first noticed the info about
these games and he said it stated only Bonk and Adventure Island are to be
made on PS2. Star Soldier is exclusive to GC. (seems to be the best console
for shooters) If you like shooters and own a GC I'd recomend Ikaruga wich
was originally a Treasure Arcade ported to Dreamcast then to GC quite some
time later.

This is a problem with the power connector in your TE.

The metal strip that contacts the adaptor plug is probably bent.
It is difficult to fix, but if you can hook a small wire under the contact
and pull it out slightly to deform it, making a better contact with the
barrel of the
AC adapter connector, you should be OK.
