Subject: Fun with Dracula X

Hi, folks. Recently, I've been having a bit of fun
with cheating in PC-Engine games. (Those of you who
don't like to cheat in a game, please skip this
message.) Thanks to the cheat search feature in the
emulator Hu-Go, I've found some cheats in PCE and CD
games and have been able to implement them on a real
system. Anyway, here are some RAM locations (used in
Hu-Go) for various variables in my favourite game,
Dracula X:

141 - Lives
147 - weapon type (only up to 7 or 8 or it'll glitch)
148 - hearts
150, 151 - credits
152 - life
154 - stage??? I don't know what this does.

Anyway, I wanted to implement these cheats on a real
CD of the game, so I hacked the ISO at certain points.
 (I know, I know, Drac X isn't that tough a game, but
it is fun to be in muteki mode in the game.) If you
want to do the same for yourself, you'll need to
extract all the tracks from your CD of Drac X (please,
please, own the original; don't use an illegal copy.)
and use a hex editor in both data tracks (2 and 22) to
edit the bytes at the following locations:

22CD4: 03->09 (9 lives)
DC94C: A910->A999 (99 hearts)
DCA11: 8598->EAEA (infinite life)
DE1AD: 8594->EAEA (infinite hearts, except for special
attack)

Then you'll have to re-burn the whole CD (of course,
you would have to know how to do this properly.) and
enjoy a trained game.  I can't guarantee 100% safety
and functionality, but it works nicely on my PCE so
far.

Are there any other CD games out there that are crying
out for a cheat? Maybe I can look into them.
