I have been recently been thinking about the possibility of interfacing
a 5.25 winchester hard disk to my Commodore 64. It's feasible, I suppose,
but it may take a heck of a lot of design work, given speed differences and
especially the serial/parallel conversion probably required. But I may have
access to a Seagate ST-506 and a Western Digital WD-1000 hard disk controller
with controller software written in Z80/8085 assembler code. I am going to see
how difficult it will be to convert all this to run on the Commodore 64.

I am sending out an invitation to anyone out there who might have done any
research on the subject and may have either decided it it not worth the trouble, impossible to do or hopefully has designed and implemented such a system.

Please send any replies to me, or post on the net.
