You posted a list of the heaping helping (I say that >kidding in a
friendly way) of RPGs the DUO received. You >listed US and JAP titles.
How many people on this list can >read Japanese?
I listed the Japanese titles as well because they are part of the
platform's library of RPGs. When I was talking about DUO RPGs, I
really meant all RPGs for it.

I wouldn't disagree that the SNES/SFC had more RPGs, however, I
still think that the DUO had the better series. I say that knowing of
course about Final Fantasy (also one of my favorites, unquestionably),
and other series. Also, keep in mind that when I listed some DUO RPGs,
I left out many other great ones such as Gulliver Boy, Xak I & II, Xak
III, and so on. It's a great debate of RPGs when you compare the two
systems and they each have their advantages to be sure. The SNES has
its color capabilities, better sound card while the DUO has that
amazing CD for movies, voices, cleaner music. This is clearly evident
in Popful Mail for both systems. I also have not failed to recognize that both platforms have had
shared titles/franchises. I know that there was a Tengai Makyou game
for the SFC (which wasn't all that great to be honest),

Genesis. I love Nintendo. I love NeoGeo. >The list does go on. Heck,
I love you
     well, that's just tender

gleeful reflection (or something like that).
in fairness, i did think about it before i typed it. i have lots
of games for both systems and many others yet. the SNES is one of my
fave systems without question. however, i stick by my original
statement. while I think that
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy
Secret of Mana and several others are incredible games for the

SNES. i would confidently place

Tengai Makyou II:ManjiMaru
Legend of Xanadu II
Y's IV (the PCE version) and several others across from them.

crazy.
perhaps it's my big beefy last name? in any event, the only
part of your description that is right is the part about the black
hair.

lot of RPG fans, no? Or is it that the other platforms >were not up to
par?
i think that the RPGs are there because we all probably spent more
time in front of an RPG than any two or three games combined. Man,
Dragonslayer is SUCH A LONG game. They just leave an impression after
a while I guess. peace~george

I guess I have a more liberal notion about this. I prefer the
traditional types of course like Cosmic Fantasy (magic, experience
level, going from village to village, etc). However, these days, I
think Beyond Shadowgate, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Shenmue are just as
much RPGs as Y's. I put them in that ever growing category. It's okay
to break them down into categories like Strategy RPG (Record of Lodoss
War), Action/RPG (Exile), etc. The genre has grown and it benefits all of us.

Has anyone else noticed that Bonk looks suspicously similar to Dopey
from the Walt Disney movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs? Perhaps
this is one of those "Separated at birth" things.

that mode?
