Hello,
Joe here. Want to thank you for all of your kind words regarding MAG Fest.
I'd like to extend an EXTRA special thanks to BT, Mr. Garwood, and Aaron
Nanto. I'm glad some of you decided to show up and I hope you really enjoyed
yourself. Just to let you know, total attendance counting staff & guests was
around 300. The high score on Implode was around 55,000. I've only been able
to hit around 30,000 myself so far. As far as MAG Fest 2 goes, check out our
website at www.magfest.org for the new details just posted yesterday. I do
have one small matter of business left. We have this nice Turbo Express set
donated by TZD. It includes the following items ALL factory sealed: Turbo
Express, Turbo AC Adapter, Turbo Car Adapter, Turbo Link Cable, and Turbo TV
Tuner. Yes, you heard that last one correctly. Please DO NOT start emailing
Mr. Garwood. This was an item donated from him personally and he has no more
to be found. But it is INDEED a factory sealed, brand new, never opneed
Express TV Tuner. I'll be running this bundle as an auction exclusive to you
list emebers as per TML rules. I'll be posting all the info in an
forthcoming email. Please don't start emailing and asking questions until
then. The money will be used to help pay a few left over bills from MAG
Fest. I won't be profiteering off this personally. I think that's everything
for now.
Thanks
Joe

My 2 cents:
Like many old Psygnosis games, they were mostly eye
and ear candy... But you should check out their
original creations (Beast, Lemmings, Leander, Agony,
Brian the Lion, etc...) on the Amiga... They were
really amazing for their time.
I love Shadow of the Beast on the Turbo just because
of its awesome music... It is just a perfect
conversion of the Amiga originals. In my opinion,
though, $25 or $30 is way too much for the game! I've
gotten it for as low as $9 (in Canada, at Radio Shack,
a long time ago) and $3-$4 here in Japan. Hell, I
think the store in my city has a few copies left of
Beast at that price.
Anybody ever try out the Japanese version? The
cinemas take up more of the screen (but the loading
time is awful) and the ending is rather different.
And VERY weird.
Finally, this seems to be one of the few games that
uses the TG's high-resolution mode of 512x224(?)
pixels. The error messages, a couple opening screens,
and story text in the Japanese version are all
high-res (and thus don't look correct on emulators).
That's all for now...

Hi, this has been mentioned before, but ripped Turbo
music exists in a perfect format called "HES". Why
not go to www.zophar.net and check out some great HES tunes?

I was just listening to the soundtrack earlier and thought that I was
really neglectful of not mentioning this. The musics are the same as
the Amiga version but you can hardly tell what they're supposed to
sound like, by comparision with the Turbo. This is just another example
of an early game that was bursting at its technical seams to do
something more. It's a great, great thing that a Turbo version was made.
