Subject: TURBO LIST administrative announcement

Hello List;

Things have been awfully quiet around here lately, and there's a reason
for it. Sometime in the last few months the list membership was axed
from about 250 down to 35. I am unsure exactly when this happened, or
what exactly caused it, but it appears that a fair number of those who
got dropped were done through actions not of their own.

Using backups and the log from the list server I have attempted to
re-create the list without the automated deletion entries (if your email
address bounces, then it can be automatically deleted). Of course in
doing so I may have missed a few persons, or accidentally added a
few persons who no longer want to be a part of the list. For those
people I apologize and tell you that you can either respond to me
directly (to correct your entry), or feel free to use the automated
list serve to change your subscription to the Turbo List.

I apologize for any problems; if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
I do not guarantee that I have the answers as to what happened, but I will
do what I can to rectify the problem.

-bt

havent ordered it yet, but luckily i ran into loom on ebay for the turbo cd.
I loved that game on the pc, saddly it wont run on windows xp lol
does anyone have any opinions on shadow of the beast? As a kid i always
wanted to get that game, but i never did. Now that i finally have a turbo
duo, is it worth shelling out the 25 or somewhat bucks that places are
selling it for?

Oh man, i wanted to go to that so badly. i think that next year, if possible,
it should be held in a more metropolitan area thus making it more accessible
to more people. anyway, i'd like to know all about what went on there so feel
free to email me privately or just post to the List. welcome back list!

start a high score gome of the month or week i'm assumeing we are all preety
bust so month might be better but let me know for the rest of october we'll
pick a game everyone plays that game and tries to get a high score whoever
get the highest score gets to pick the next game for the next months conest
cool?

i'd like to pixk one we all have (i hope) blazing lasers you can post your
high scoes here or all to see and i'll do my best to keep track of them
(this month anyway :) ) you can take a pic of the screen and post a link if
you like but you DON'T have to.

so? everyone up for this? remeber blazing lasers high score until midnight
the 29th of oct (gives me a few days to figure out the winner)

Whoa! Thanks for that review! lol
I guess i'll steer away from it.... but as a kid it looked so shiny and new.
Oh well.
If anyone has any recommendations for a shooter to get besides blazing
lasers, dead moon, dragon spirit, r-type, gates and/or lords of thunder,
please let me know!
I'm also looking for one of the multi-game cd packs that game bundled with
the duo.

I'd suggest trying Seirei Senshi Spriggan, L-Dis, Gradius II, Star Parodier,
Final Soldier, and Super Star Soldier. I could name more I personally think
are good shmups; however, the above will set you on your way. If you can
afford it, though, I'd suggest picking up Magical Chase...it's a really good
card game; conversely, Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire isn't really worth
picking up unless you are a rabid collector...too little bang for the extreme
buck. You're apparently into Dragon Spirit and R-Type, so you also may want
to give Dragon Saber (on card and a superior sequel) and R-Type Complete CD a
try.

Anybody ever try Sylphia? I missed it last time it came up on eBay, and
haven't seen it being sold in quite a while. I heard it was pretty good...

Say BT, for what it's worth, it looks like the exact date that things
broke may have been June 16th, or immediately following. That
was when I stopped receiving my list traffic. I believe I made a
post to the list on July 9th when I finally figured it out, managed
to get myself resubscribed, and then posted, pointing out there
was something wierd going on.

Hope that helps...

Bryan

Sylphia is pretty average (I have it)...I've never really understood people
who say it's really good. I play and own a tremendous collection of shooters
(my genre of choice), and I just don't get it...nothing about it really
screams out quality. For a similar (and earlier) and better executed take on
the theme, you be better suited to pick up Namco's Phelios for Mega Drive.

Man,
you absolutely are tearing this game up! it's a little bit of an unfair
treatment. yes, there are some level design oddities but the graphics,
artwork, and especially music are impressive. so the story sucks or i should
say, has a very basic premise...your character went to sleep, was turned into
a beast and has to be turned back. i can live with that. it's not intricate,
but the rest of the game is very well done and it just looks so sharp. really
crisp graphics. the backgrounds are so nicely polished.
i say, if the game is $25 or $30 you should get it! it's a definate
challenge without the cheat code but it can be beaten.

According to ncsx.com, there IS an English version coming out later this
year, but in somewhat limited quantities. We don't really know any other
info than that, though they were collecting suggestions from people on what
they'd like to see in the US release.
