Well, I do know that one major stipulation that Miyazaki had in place for the
contract he made with Disney, if they were to distribute his films, was that
they could in no way, other than dub the voices, alter the content of any of
his films. After he at one time sold the US rights to Nausicaa to . . . New
World Pictures, if I'm not mistaken, they cut out almost 30 minutes of the
film and released it as Warriors of the Wind. "Never again" were his words on
that debacle.

From what I gather, Disney will be changing Laputa: Castle in the Sky. I
don't know everything in their plan, but I do know that they've brought the
original music producer back to rescore the film. Weird.
