Well, as for as emails, Brian is pretty good at responding within a day so
no issue there...

As for the HuCard slips, my last email from Brian was that he was getting
them out two weeks ago....but I've still not got mine yet....so either they
didn't get out yet, or they were shipped using a really slow shipping
method......?

I've just bought 3 sealed games the last couple of weeks (Fatal Fury 2,
Panic Bomber and Formation Soccer 95: Serie A). It's not that uncommon to
find them. Some games are easier to find new than others though. Just bought
2 Brand new Jap systems too, including a Shuttle and a Duo. Just keep
looking, you'll find them. And your right about them shrink-wrapping second
hand games Joe. They shrink consoles + Accessories too.

Sofmap do too. I bought a few things off of a guy here that he got from
there and they were all shrinked.

FWI, there are currently five different auctions on E-Bay right now offereing
CLD-A100s. Unfortunately most of them appear to only come with the MegaDrive
module... and a couple of the auctions look like they may be short remotes
but for those of you looking to get the player at all, or looking for a back-up
unit, you might want to check them out. Every now and then the PCEngine
modules show up as well. OH, none of these are my auctions... I'm just giving
a heads up to the list...

Everything came boxed in MINT condition with everything! SWEET! That was my
best deal EVER. Just though I'd let you guys know :) If you look enough
you will find one.

Hi fellow list members,

a friend of mine (100% reliable) is parting his new & sealed
copy of Sapphire. Not cheap, but you might consider it. He's
asking 750 Euro + shipping. It's 100% NOT re-shrinked, but
really new, unused & factory sealed. The price is not negotiable.

I will get a sealed Sapphire as well (out of a large bundle
trade I've done some time ago) and consider selling or
trading it as well. I've no particular price in mind, so feel
free to mail me with any $$ offer or trade offer (import soft-
and hardware only + japanese DVDs).

Email me under samohung@munich.netsurf.de for details...
You can check my 1400+ positive feedbacks on ebay, if you
need any "security" (my user id is samohung).

Thanks for listening & Bye
Tobias

Subject: PCFX Deep Blue Fleet FS/T

Hello listers,

Since I don't have a PCFX, I've decided to sell this game... It's MIB and
complete, including the protecting foam inside the cart, warranty card,
instructions manual and even the PCFX sealable stick on the box side.

If you want to trade for it, I'm interested in PCE/Saturn/Neo Geo (CD, cart
or MVS) games.

I'm not sure what would be the asking price for this item, so best offer
takes it. Pictures are available if you ask nicely :-)

Please remember that I live in Brazil and that should add about $7 to the
shipping via priority air mail. I have traded/bought stuff before on this
list, but that was a long time ago...

I also have two PCFX pads and as far as I remember they are MIB as well, if
anyone is interested I'll try to find them in the mess I call home.

Regards,

Jose Agripino

     ::whistles:: 750 Euro's is about $650 US dollars.  While I don't
have any interest in the game personally, is anyone actually that
interested in this game? I mean, it had a few 3D graphics and all, but
it had I recall no parallax and was too easy and short for my tastes.
If someone does pay that much, I'd love to know you sold it.
I'd pay you, but John Romero's ferrari was on eBay just a while
ago and might be reposted, so I'll pass. ;)
Later.

I sold one for US $650 not too long ago -- yes, sealed, mint, no sun
bleach or anything. Highest I've seen one is JP 75,000 yen, which with
the weak yen is now about $650, but was about $700 at the time.

Subject: Import Q

Been pretty dormant here but with all this talk about imports again
it got me wondering when I first started collecting imports. So...
What was your first import game you ever bought (I guess for any
system)?
Mine, incidentally, was a Pc Engine game. Back in 1993 when Dracula
X came out, I knew it wasn't coming here at all, but read many reviews
on how great a game it was, and just had to get it. I knew that no
convertors were needed to play a CD game (back then I don't think many
people even thought of playing Japanese games so that probably why it
wasn't much of an issue as it is today). So I started looking into it,
the Internet wasn't what it was today and had to search in my Video
Game Magazines. Looking in the back where all the stores shown prices
for new import games such as BRE Software, Game Dude (what a bastard),
some others. But found it cheapest, at the time, at Japan Video Games,
I'm sure they're not around anymore as I have not heard about them at
all for sometime. So I had my dad order me the game, hell I was still
in High School at that time so no Credit Card, got it for $69.99. I
tell you after I popped that sucker in I was hooked, was a great game
and still is. Still have it too and told my mom when I die that bad
boy is coming with me, amongst a few others, as it was my first import. Since, on countless systems, I have hundreds of imports but it all
started with what many call the flagship Turbo/PCE game. And as people were talking here about finding shrinked games, many
mentioned I still have new, basically bought not to play but just as
collectors status. They have to be out there, it just finding them and
seeing if someone is willing to part them, as for me you'll have to pry
them from my kung-fu grip ;)
Adam...

I have a largish collection (sitting at 1,054 today)...and I guess in a sense
I could be a "collector" as I only buy stuff complete (no loose stuff) and as
mint a condition as possible; however, I've never understood the collector
who never upwraps his or her games to...um...actually play them (I know
some). It baffles me. Given the recent drops in some PC Engine prices due
to a seeming lack of concern (gamers are fickle), the value of some
collections has spiraled down...even the sealed ones. So what are you left
with? In some cases, once expensive games which are now about a fifth of
what you paid. In my opinion, the depreciation is no big deal if you
actually play the games and get enjoyment from them. At that point, though,
what's the draw in keeping the shrink on? Guess I'll never get it. I game
to because I like the hobby and I truly enjoy playing games, and I don't see
the point in having a bunch of shrinkwrapped aging games on a shelf not
keeping their prices with time. They aren't like paintings you hang on the
wall. This is certainly a bad hobby for investors, unless you hawk your
stuff when the price gets high. But, then again, that's somewhat retarded
because why would you want to sell something you enjoy? I used to collect
comics when I was younger until all of the so-called investors came in and
ruined the hobby. That's when I got out. This happened with gaming
also...and all of the "I demand shrinkwrap" weirdos came out of the woodwork
hoping to cash in on the hobby. I didn't get out entirely...though I sort of
did for a few months...but it's the same perversion which I didn't like in
the comic collecting field. Once you take the whole purpose out of it,
there's really no reason to do it. I actually had some sick child ask me how
Akumajo Dracula X played one time because they still had their sealed copy
and refused to open it. Mine was opened in November 1993, and I didn't have
to ask people anything about it, as I've been "experiencing" it for over 8
years now. I've never once regretted breaking the shrink.

Not only in Japan do you find brand new games but in HK too (chances are they
were imported recently from Japan rather than being left over stocks in
warehouses). I saw Downtown Monogatari brand new in two different shops here
(but it costs like HK$3000+) and also a sealed Double Dragon II.

Friend and I thinks that it's resealed although it does have a spine card AND
the tab. He mentioned that Double Dragon II was one of the few with the tear
off line running from top to bottom and not left to right. Does anyone here
have a brand new one to compare??
