			January 1985 ANTIC TOC
			Theme: Super Utilities

Page	Article

12	COMMUNICATIONS: Starting a Bulletin Board Part II
A review of available BBS software.

17	THE TOOLBOX: BASIC Searcher
BASIC Searcher finds the lines containing any command,
operator, function or variable in your BASIC program.

19	TYPO II
An easier proofreader for Antic type-ins

20	PROFILES: Interviewing Dan Bunten
The designer of "Seven Cities of Gold" and "M.U.L.E.".

30	Q.T. (Game of the Month)
Q.T. is an inventive game boasting three different screens,
each with six increasingly nerve-wracking levels of difficulty.
		[24K cassette, 32K disk]

33	SCRAMBLE [Bonus Game]
A computerized, competitive version of the familiar word
		finding puzzle.

34	WIDE TEXT
The easiest and most powerful method ever developed for
inserting bold double-width Graphics 1 letters anywhere on
the screen in Graphics 0, the standard text mode.

36	TOUCH TABLE CURSOR
Control the cursor in your own BASIC programs with a KoalaPad
or Atari Touch Tablet. Perfect for selecting menu options or
		educational quiz answers.

40	DISKIO: Supercharger for Atari DOS
DISKIO is a superb enhancement for DOS 2.OS. For openers, it
provides access to nearly all the DOS functions directly from
BASIC or Atari Assembler Editor. It also has an alphabetical
disk directory display and needs only a few keystrokes for
		disk file operations.

44	THE PARALLEL BUS REVEALED
The first part of four parts. Until now, the Parallel Bus
Interface has been one of the big mysteries of ATARI XL
computers. This important ANTIC series--by one of ATARI's
former top technical executives (Earl Rice)--will at last
provide all the information necessary for tapping the power
		of this 100K byte/second connection.

48	ESCAPE FROM DOS3
Say goodbye to glitchy DOS3 forever! Convert your files
back to good old DOS 2.0S. You'll need three blank disks
and your DOS 3 Master Disk. You also need an article from
		July 1984 ANTIC.

51	SOFTWARE LIBRARY
All the programs from the magazine are here in the middle.

65	NEW BOOKS FOR ATARI
		Roundup of the latest releases.

69	OPCODE FINDER
Opcode Finder is a chart that conveniently brings together
the symbols for all three formats of representing machine
language subroutines in BASIC programs. This information
makes it a lot simpler to hand-disassemble short sub-
		routines for study or modification.

76	NEW ATARI FLIGHTS
A software review and comparison of FLIGHT SIMULATOR II,
SPACE SHUTTLE and F-15 STRIKE EAGLE.

79	PRODUCT REVIEWS
		SOFTWARE:
Rome and the Barbarians (KRENtek Software)
		  Napoleon at Waterloo (KRENtek Software)
		  Epidemic (SSI)
		  Star Wars (Parker Bros.)
		  Bruce Lee (Datasoft)
Quest of the Space Beagle (Avalon Hill)
		  Realm of Impossibility (Electronic Arts)
		  Rails West (SSI)
		  X-BASIC & SCROLL-IT (SUPERware)
		  Montana Reading Program (PDI)
		  Chaos (Touch Stone Software)
		BOOKS
Adventures with the Atari (Reston Publishing)

Comments: Someone asked about Keystroke Artist. I noticed in one of
ANTIC's own ad that they have back issues of the magazine now
available on disk. Keystroke Artist was in the 8/83 issue and
it is available for $12.95 plus $2 shipping. If you buy three
disks (any issues), you get a fourth free (total $38.85 + $2
shipping). The new Customer Service Number for Atari is
(408)-745-4851. No longer toll free. The subscription rate
for ANTIC is going up January 1985. They are still honoring
the $24 per year rate through 12/31/85. ANTIC is compiling a
list of all ATARI User Groups. If you are an officer and would
like to get a free listing in ANTIC magazine, write or phone
them. If you don't have the address or phone number, email me
and I'll give it to you. Happy computing...
