Perhaps I'm being real dumb but I can't get my Mac
to look quite like a VT100 as far as the UNIX machine I'm
on is concerned. In particular, the "vi" editor
does not work quite right, many of the escape characters
for screen control appearing at quasi-random locations
on the Mac screen. I am using the standard UNIX System
V terminfo. Anyone have any ideas on what I'm doing
wrong? Please send replies via "mail" and if I get enough
responses (that work :)! ) I will post to the net.

                        Thanks in advance,
                        Chris Jachcinski

A couple of suggestions...

1) Make sure the TABS are set correctly, a STTY TABS should do the trick

2) Makre surew the wrap modes, newline etc are turned OFF.

3) Make sure your macintosh is really set to VT100 mode, this can get
""undone"" if you change settings and dont save the Terminal document
    before using the document.

4) Make sure you have a "valid" termcap entry for vt100's, not one of the
   numerous broken ones...

I use Macterminal in the vt100 (and vt52) modes on our Unix Vaxen
(running BSD 4.2) all the time and have had no problems. It also
	works fine under (suprise!) Eunice...
