The following is posted for a freind. He would like to receive replies

The adds in Macworld are pretty terrible, as a rule, but most of them I
can put up with. I have just seen the November issue of Macworld,
however, and there are a couple of advertisements there that just
appall me. On page 155, there is an ad by "Investware". Have you
heard of Bill Atkinson's program SCREENMAKER? I will post it on
net.sources for those of you who do not have it. It lets you take ANY
macpaint picture and make of it a startup screen that will replace the
screen that says "Welcome to Macintosh". These people at Investware
have the gall to charge $40.00, not for a program to make your own
pictures, but for ONLY ONE PRE-MADE picture. That's just going too
far.
Elsewhere in Macworld, there is evidence that people have noticed the
mac font editor program that has been around for a while... Some people
have actually made fonts that they think are worth $100 per font. I
think that this is piracy of the worst sort, because I have about 4
disks of PUBLIC DOMAIN fonts that are just as good, or better!
Only the BEST programs should sell for as much as $100.00, and I think
that the prices that some people are charging for things on the mac are
simply ridiculous.
