	hello,
I've got a problem with an applesoft program I've
been writing. The problem started after I the used applesoft
tool kit's auto numbering function in the middle of the
program. After I saved it I took a catalog and it was 45
sectors long. I had to go out so I shut of the apple.
Later, I tried loading the program to do some more
work on it. It took a surprisingly short amount of time
to load so I listed it, and only the auto numbered lines
listed. The catalog still showed 45 sectors used. So I
transfered it to another disk, which also showed 45 but
	only loaded 7 of them.
Getting out my Bag of Tricks, I checked the catalog
the programs sector list, and the 45 sectors and they all
were there. The first seven sectors were the ones being
loaded, but I couldn't figure out why it stopped there.

		Now for my questions:

	1) What does the program length in the first sector tell,
	    and who does it tell?

	2) I also have a text version of the program that I,ve been
up and downloading to a mainframe. How can I convert
	    it to an applesoft program?

	3) How can I write a program like PHONE LIST (on system
master I think) that can change itself? If I can do
that it could load the text file in and write itself.

Any other information that might be helpful would be welcome.

					     Thanks in advance,
						craig.
