I don't know who is being replied to here, as I missed the
initial question, but I have to agree with keithd at cadovax on the Indus
G.T.. I have one with my old time Atari 800, and am completely pleased with
its performance. It reads and writes fast, and has a lot of neat little
extra features. There is only one complaint I have, and I have been told
that mine is a common problem. A couple of the LED's on the track display
flicker or go out completely often for long periods of time. Fortunately,
the ones that go out normally do not prevent you from reading the display,
but it is an annoyance. With the quality of most consumer products these days,
though, I don't let that worry me. I still highly recommend the Indus. If you
can afford the ATR-8000, I might recommend that also, but that's a different
story. I now regret the loss of all that wonderful CP/M software that I could
have had, so if you consider CP/M an important option, and don't mind the cost
and trouble, consider ATR too. Let me emphasize, however, that Indus is a
first-rate drive. Have fun.
