I acquired from SUMEX through a friend the "freeware" text editor
called FILE, in .dl (tohex) format. It is very useful for general
editing as opposed to word-processing. It even can be used to make
MacTalk documents. Since it was not generally available to Usenet
readers unless they could FTP from SUMEX, and has no distribution
restrictions, I have posted it and an associated help document
to net.sources.

I have tested it only very briefly (downloaded, ran fromhex on it,
fired it up and did a bit of editing), but there seems no reason
to believe that it does not work as advertised. Try it!

Thanks to John W Peterson for making the program available.
