Sorry to use the net for a personal note, but I've tried sending messages
through the mail and don't seem to be having any luck.  Albert, since you
recommend Ultima III, does this mean you've played Ultima I and/or Ultima II?
I've been playing Ultima II for a couple of months (it's the first and only
adventure-type game I have) and I have managed to figure out virtually
everything *except* how to acquire alternate transportation (i.e., frigates,
planes, and rockets).  I have been told by the barkeeps that: "Saylors wear
blue tassles", "Pilots wear brass buttons", "Aviators use skull keys", and
"Ankhs open space".  I have never acquired any of these items on my (Z)tatus
page, nor have I been able to find anyone or anywhere to get them from.
Do you really need to have them?  Where or how do you get them?  I've been
playing the same character for so long that my experience points have rolled
over (at 9999), I'm topped out on attribute points, hit points, and gold,
have more food than I could ever possibly consume, and more weapons and armor
than I could ever possibly use.  BUT I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET ON A
FRIGATE, PLANE, OR ROCKET!!  I've tried (O)ffering to everyone I can find,
I've gone groping around in towers (although I have as yet never seen a
dungeon), I've even been to Minax's castle.  I've tried fighting my way to
the frigates docked in Port Bonifice, I've offered gold to the Ithilian
wench...frankly, Albert, I'm going just a little bit crazy!  I've slaughtered
entire towns and villages, I've wiped out all the meanies that guard the
entrance to Minax's castle...I just can't take it anymore.  Please, you've
got to help me, if you can.  I'll be watching this file for your reply.
(Again, I'm sorry about having to use the net this way, but really, the
mail system just doesn't seem to be making it.)  Thanks.

P.S.  I seem to acquire an endless supply of Green Gems on my (Z)tatus page
(in fact, they've rolled over twice), but I have no idea what to use them
for or how to access them.  Any ideas?
