Grumble, grumble. I'm fed up with this stupid 1541 drive. Hence, I'm in the
market for some other type of drive. I'd like to hear from those of you who
own some other type of disk drive before I make my purchase. In particular I'd
like to know:

1) Does your drive go out of alignment as bad as the 1541? (This is the main
   reason I'm looking around!)
2) Does it have the "save & replace" bug (which sometimes messes up the file
   pointers) like the 1541 has?
3) Does it have the scratch bug (which doesn't always update the BAM) like the
   1541 has?
4) Does it have the heat problems like the 1541?
5) How compatible with the 1541 (from a programmer's viewpoint) is it?
6) Is it a dual or single drive?
7) Who makes it?
8) How much does it cost?
9) How long have you had it?
10) What do you most/least like about it?
11) Do you recommend it?

Thanks for all of your help. I'd really appreciate it.

I'd like some more information about a company which makes c64 drives by the
name of "MS" or something like that. Anyone dealt with them or know about
their drives? They appear to be a new company.
