Received from hogpc!houxn!rb Thu Mar 8 21:40:46 1984 :

The Indus GT is a very nice Atari drive. It comes with the following software:
1) DOS X/L (from OSS)
2) A generic Word Processor
3) A generic Spreadsheet
4) A generic Data Base
5) A "warp speed" utility

Items 1 and 2 above are currently shipped with the drives
Items 3-5 are "not yet available" and no ship date is being given
Indus merely says to return the warranty card, and they will ship the
missing software when available.

The drive runs in three density modes:
1) 810 mode -single density (40 trk-128 bytes/sector-18 sector/trk)
2) 1050 mode-"enhanced density" (40 trk-128 bytes/sector-26 sector/trk)
3) double density (40 trk-256 bytes/sector-18 sector/trk)

The drives appearance is excellent. A plexi-door seals it up for dust
free operation. A sensor starts the motor as a disk is inserted, for
proper centering. It gives all the appearance of being the best drive
for the Atari at the moment....(As an aside, a better way to go is
probably an ATR8000 which gives access to STANDARD drives---either
3" 5" or 8", available at MUCH lower cost....the combination price
of the ATR8000 and a standard drive is less than an Atari 850 and
just about ANY Atari drive!!!)

Retail price of the Indus is $450, includes the software above and
a suitcase type storage case which doubles as a disk holder after the
drive is unpacked. Discounts are seen down to $350.

Speed is still the same as the Atari 810/1050 until the new "warp"
software is available (when????)
