If you are using any disk drive besides the old Atari 810 then
the problem with booting your disks may not be the XL OS but
the disk drive. One software protection scheme times how long it
takes to load in sectors and will not boot correctly on new drives.
(Blue Max) will not boot using a 1050 disk drive.

P.S> Ah, the price for software protection (lost sales, incompatibly with
system upgrades). I refuse to buy software that is protected but will
buy unprotected software. The only exception is when the vendor gives
you two copies in case of disk failure.
