Has anyone else hooked their Vectrex unit up to a stereo amp yet. I did.
After locating the speaker wire's connection to the internal PC board, I
attached a phono plug to that side of the cabinet (drilled a hole through the
cabinet so that phonon jack protrudes stightly), then connected that to my
AUX stereo input. WOOOOoooo! Its really terriffic. There is a lot of sound
coming out of that little Vectrex. You just don't it there. The sound
quality is as good as the coin-ops. Highly recommended for all Vectrex
freaks!!
Be advised that some background buzzing does leak into the audio circuit. This
is normal (the Vectrex graphic h/w operates on many frequencies, unlike raster
graphics devices). The cure is to keep your stereo amp turned down low and
turn up the volume from the Vectrex on/off switch. I gaurantee you'll love
the results.
