If you are looking for a wonderful break from shoot'em up games,
this is the one to get. It uses the 5200 joystick controller.
You can use the TrakBall controller, but I personally feel that
the joystick is better for this game. Try it for yourself.
I should mention that one other 5200 game came out recently.
This one is called Kangaroo. I don't have much to say about this
one except that if you don't have smaller kids playing in your
house, don't bother. It's cute, mildly challenging and moderately
interesting. The graphics are mediocre at best.
A few other notes about Atari. The 2600 adapter for the 5200 is
finally available. Unfortunately, most 5200 out in the field cannot
use the adapter without a small modification. Although any
authorized Atari Service Center will do this modification free
of charge, it is still a pain in the neck. I hope that they had
a really good reason for doing this, it may hurt them in the long
run. Finally, a few other promised games are still not yet out.
These include "Vanguard", "Space Dungeon", and "Dig-dug".
I noticed that "Battlezone" is now available for the 2600,
can the 5200 version be far behind? I'm still waiting for
other game makers to come out with games for the 5200.
So far, there is only "Frogger" and something called "Miner 2049".
